Mattress Selection at Furniture Fair

Rosalind and I have decided to
source for our wedding bed this weekend since there is a furniture fair at
Expo. We are looking for a storage bed package to keep our gears.
There are quite a number of
brands exhibited in the fair which most of them are well- known brands. The brands we tried were :
- Magic Coil - Ok.. But thought the price quoted did not justify for the comfort level.
- King Koil - We didn't like the bouncy feel when lying on the bed. In addition, the price was out of our budget.
- Slumberland Royal Series - The bed was soft for us. Price too steep.
- Dunlopillo - The sales lady gave us a long technical lecture which I had no idea what she was talking about. But, Dunlopillo has given us the best experience out of all the mattresses that we have tried. But it is too pricey for us.
- Vono Back Relaxer - The sales lady was really aggressive in selling this mattress since the storage bed combination quoted was within our budget. We liked the comfort feel when lying on the bed. Some of the unique selling points that lured us were (a) Bamboo Natural Fabric and (b) Pocketed Intalok Spring System. However, since Vono is the Sister brand of Slumberland, we were worried that the quality received does not justify for the price.
- Sleep Night - Never heard about this brand before and the google search turned out no result. However, we preferred the experience sleeping on this mattress over the Vono brand. In addition, the bed frame looked more trendy and attractive. Nevertheless, I decided not to commit because : (a) getting a headache after trying out so many mattresses; (b) every sales person told a different story and claimed they are the best; (c) suspicious that the salesman over quoted us the price.
In the end, I decided not to make
a rush decision since I am getting a pretty bad headache. Instead, I went back
home and checked if there was any warehouse sales to visit and compare the price.
Lesson learnt: Do your research
before coming to furniture fair. Make sure you'll know what you want because
every salesperson will paint a complete different picture. Also, you must try
on limited selected brands only. If you have tried too many mattresses, you
won't feel the difference.
